Response to Jean Anyon

Jean Anyon did research on schools of different social class. I believe that schools in different social classes teach differently based on on your social class. I find this true because growing up i moved a lot. This was because we lived in a poor social class environment, and as my mom worked harder and got a better job we moved to much safer and more higher social class areas. When I lived in a poor environment I went to school where everyone was just like each other and was the same economic status. they thought differently than most schools but us not knowing this thought is was normal. We weren't aloud to be creative or be independent. It was always group work.  As I climbed in social class so did my education. I went on to higher level of schools. When I went to Jackson Memorial Highschool everyone was the same economic status. everyone was wealthy and living comfortably and was i . In school we had to be independant and always used critical thinking in our work. Anyone I think anyone research is correct even though it's from a very long time ago. I still think that discrimination of education because of social class still exists. The students that know about this find it unfair and the student who have no clue about it seem to think it's normal because they haven't had experiences of being thought differently. If I could change one thing about the research I would change the year. this is because if you made it a more present year then it wouldn't matter because this topic is still relevant. Her research didn't consider where the teachers come from. maybe if we knew where the teachers live and computed from we would have a better understanding of why they want to teach the class like this.

quotes from students right to their own language

"the claim that anyone dialect is unacceptable amounts to an atempt of one social group to exert its dominance over another."
"....the dialects of their nurture or whatever dialects in which they find their own identity and style."
"a nation proud of its diverse heritage and its cultural and racial variety will preserve its heritage of dialects."

Language in writing

There shouldn't be any boundaries to a students language. Students in  an academic setting should be able to use any proper standard language or words in there writing. As a teacher you can really affect a students writing when you tell them to not use there language. By examining teachers that don't teach students how to property incorporate language into there writing toner can show that a clear use of language can make  a writing better.
Students proper use of language language can make there paper more unique. when a student has to incorporate themselves in there writing they wanna be true too the reader. in most academic settings students really don't incorporate there language or even slang. they feel like it doesn't sound proper. it could also be because teachers don't teach how to properly put language in ones writing.
This is a big part of making great writing. students should be able to use there slang, cultural language, and any means of personal expression in there writing when in an academic setting. i don't think students should use it in very formal and research based writing in work settings. This is because the use of language wont help there writing and it wont be clear for t he reader to understand. If the writing is not clear then it is not good writing. This is why students should be taught to use it properly to produce clearer work.
